    I haven't used these yet leaning this direction due to research.

    Their is a free community TeamSpeak server. imo it is superior to the others when it comes to just sound, since it doesn't do video.

    Discord is a great all around app. Is free to setup a server and allows voice, video, desktop sharing, and provides an threaded IM type of discussion.

    Skype is bad, imo. Lots of bandwidth issues and not better in anyone aspect than Discord.
