Swords of the Serpentine Playtest - Sword and Sorcery using the GUMSHOE System
I recently got introduced to the GUMSHOE system and find myself quite drawn to it. Thank you, Hector! Well there's a new game coming out that is using the GUMSHOE system and it's a Sword & Sorcery setting with very cinematic combat (if you're into that type of thing). The playtest is now open for applications, simply apply here: https://site.pelgranepress.com/index...playtesting-4/
If you're looking for more information about the game itself and what's in the playtest then look no further than the following: https://site.pelgranepress.com/index...that-playtest/
Just thought I'd share this in case there was anyone interested but didn't already know.
Happy gaming!

I had seen the playtest. The game looks interesting. The playtest schedule is quite tight, with reports back in February.

If anyone is interested, I've signed up for the playtest. I'm looking at running fortnightly sessions on Sundays at 2 pm UK time. If I get the documents in time, starting this Sunday.

I've set up a calendar for a playtest. I've been accepted on to the playtest, but not yet had any playtest files. I'm planning on running a character building session on the 27th Jan, and then adventure sessions on the 10th and 24th Feb. The deadline for the playtest is the 28th Feb with a minimum of 2 sessions, so this works.

If I'm allowed to share the playtest documents, then some reading would be useful. If not, the Gumshoe system is fairly easy to pick up. For general skills, you spend skill points to add to a single d6 roll. Usually, if you get over 4 then you succeed. Occasionally, a higher difficulty of 5 or 6 would be required.
There's a questionnaire to complete once the sessions are done. The questionnaire looks like they are expecting one per group, with the GM filling it in. I'll want some feedback after each session from the players though, so that I can get a feel of the group consensus. I'll be setting up a closed Google Drive folder to share any files that I can. I'll put the questionnaire questions in that folder for the players to see.
There's a commitment not to redistribute files except as necessary for the playtest. I would expect players to adhere to that, and not share the files with anyone outside our playtest group.Using Ultimate license - that means anyone can play.

Hi, Valarian!
I really want to join but there's just too much other stuff going on for me to be able to commit right now; Sundays are just becoming too busy unfortunately. Good luck and I hope it goes well!
Happy gaming!
