Tracking non-spell counters on NPCs
Are there any good mechanisms for tracking a generic counters for NPCs? For example, let's say I've got an NPC that has an ability along the lines of bardic inspiration. Easy to track that on a PC sheet, but I'm not certain if there's a good way for NPCs.

No, there isn't. But since an NPC won't last long enough for it to matter - it doesn't matter.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

If you need to track stuff like this for a semi-permanent NPC then makes notes on the NPC "Other" tab, or add a note to the text of the ability itself. "Total uses 4: 2 left." or whatever works for you.

Indeed, if this is an NPC who is going to be a follower or henchman I would certainly make this as a PC. You will have much finer control over things if you do.

As a 'hack', if the character doesn't cast spells, you could add some spells to get spell slots. Then change the spells to the abilities, and keep one ability as first level spells, the next ability as 2nd level spells, etc.
Fantasy Grounds Unity Lives! Good job, Smiteworks!
