New solo CRPG with old-school pen and paper feel: The Hero of Deathtrap Dungeon

Hi folks! We're working on a solo digital RPG targeted at those of us who love tabletop / pen & paper RPG play but occasionally want convenient solo play. It's based on the Fighting Fantasy setting of Deathtrap Dungeon, originally introduced in 1984, but features a whole new story. We're working with the original author, Ian Livingstone, as well as Alex Gygax, Gary's son, to help us get the experience just right.

But we need your help to make it happen! If this sounds like your cup of tea/ale, then head to the link below to back us or to invest in the project.

    Thanks!

Good luck, brad and welcome to the forums. What ruleset will this run in?

Thanks, folks. The ruleset is a custom mix of bluebox-era D&D with more of an emphasis on skills (like 3.5/PF/5e) and some modern streamlining. Trying to capture the anything-could-happen feeling of the dawn of RPG's with modern convenience and replayability.

If you like the bluebox era rules, have you read the articles by the people trying to re-create Dave Arneson's original rules? He wasn't as big on note taking as Gygax so it is harder, but the style is pretty cool and definitely distinct from Gary's.
Alexandrian's analysis of Arneson's Rules for Castle Blackmoor
The Richard Snyder variant rules. Which despite being a variant of D&D got published first.

As a fan of the really old rules myself, learning this half of the history and seeing how different Gary and Dave ran games is pretty fascinating.
