    Bug: Can't add occupation

Whan I drag an occupation over, it does not affect the skill list, and I don't get occupation points.
I made another character just before this one, it worked .. and now it doesn't. Tried making a new character again, nothing...
Can't put in the occupation points myself, so can't do anything really.

The problem seems to come and go, but there is also another bug:

When I put in Doctor of medicine as occupation; science biology and pharmacy are occupation skills, and language other aswell.
FG doesn't register them as such, and I can't put my occupation points into them.

Same as with all the other occupations, I can't select anything, like an interpersonal skill...

    Alright i found a bug.
For criminal you choose between fighting and firearms, but in the skill list your choise doesnt appear as an occupation skill. Now what?

Not entirely the same, but it's related to Occupations (in the ruleset itself). I've created a lot of Occupations (from the Down Darker Trails book), and for a long time these have been visible to people - but today when using the same homemade module with this information (+ Talents, Items etc.) the only thing the users can see are the Items. It's as if the occupations are not shared.... but there's also no way to share them. Not sure what has happened here because I know it used to work since people created characters with it before.

There have been a few updates recently.
Can you perhaps PM me your module so I can have a look?

Okay, so I might just be dumb...

I can add an occupation, but I can't adjust any specialisations when I add my Occupation, and the occupations themselves lack descriptions for Contacts etc.

When I go to the Skills Tab, it is completely blank. I press edit as per the Character Creation guide, but I have nothing to edit. I've tried dragging skills into the sheet, but I then can't A.) Specify a specialisation (for example, I can drag and drop fighting, but not fighting brawl) and B.) I can't then edit and say a skill is an Occupation skill.

All told, pretty much stuck and I can't work it out. This is on top of my Brother in law telling me it's really easy!

So, is there a known issue, or am I in fact as dumb as a post?

    hey LukeyLuke,

the occupations in the reference materials are locked. you drag an occupation to your character sheet and then you open that occupation from your character sheet and edit it.
    1. if you need to choose an attribute for your occupation points calculation do that first
    2. make any occupation skill choices
    3. add any appropriate contacts
    4. close the occupation

then go to the Skills tab and go to edit mode
the occupation skills have red check boxes beside them and you can spend occupation skill points on them

why is there no description or contacts in the occupations? because they are blank in the rulebook. they added the content for these in the Investigators Handbook and the FG product mimics that.
