I'm willing to buy a new "updated" ruleset (even if it only a few tweaks) but I very much need it to be able to use older SW mods and such. I've got a huge investment in current edition works. In fact, I still need to finish my FG Hellfrost collection once there's another sale. Any guarantees of backward compatibility?

I am still thinking how the upcoming update is going to be done and there won't be official statement until I get my hands on the rule changes. However, PEG has already promised backward compatibility so that is the minimum we are going to provide. You are going to be able to use your owned SavageWorlds FG products as is with the update (whatever it is going to be).
