Regeneration - How to prevent Regeneration???

Some omnsters Regenerate, such as Trolls. And their regeneration is prevented if in the last round they take damage from certain damage types, such as Acid or Fire.

In 5th Edition, there is a magical effect, Wounding, which prevents regeneration. The target gets to make a save at the end of each of their turns to end the effect early.

How does one create an effect that can be applied to a target to prevent regeneration? REGEN give them the ability, but I can''t figure out to prevent it on a temporary basis. Is it even possible?

I dont believe there is an effect you can add that will prevent regeneration. the effect REGEN allows you to set certain damage types that will overcome it. As a DM, you can mark the regen effect from "On" to "Skip one use" which means it wont fire on their next turn.

Indeed there is no effect which can handle this situation. Mattekur’s suggestion is the way to go.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

How do you do this? I don't DM the game where this came up in, so I'm not sure I know what to tell them DM to Look for. But it does get hard to keep track of this situation, especially when using the Alternate GReyhawk Rules for initiative. THe program does a great job of keeping track of their abilkityto regen when you use Fire and Acid against them in a round (1 full cycle of everyone's turn). Since this is the case there has to be some something behinds the scene or under the hood for this to occur.

On the line where the effect appears on the CT there are three small buttons which allows the DM to control some aspects of the effect. One of these allows the DM to skip the effect for a turn.

You are correct that there is something going on under the hood to track it, but its not available for us to access with effects. As for what to tell the GM, on the GM view of the combat tracker, they would go to the NPC and look at their effects (its the bird/wing looking icon). For the Regeneration effect, on the left will be a green "On". Click that until it turns to the "Skip one Use" (it will turn orange). It will look like this:
