Unearthed Arcana: Hybrid Nature
So the recent UA introduced a new racial trait:
Hybrid Nature. You have two creature types: humanoid and monstrosity. You can be affected by a game effect if it works on either of your creature types.
In a Dragon+ interview, Crawford mentioned that he wants to use this dual-type concept for other things as well. How well (or poorly) will Fantasy Grounds handle multiple creature types?Last edited by epithet; May 16th, 2018 at 17:48.

I don't see a challenge in handling it. It would depend how the database field for race/type handles things. Since right now I think most of these types of fields are simple string fields and not restricted value lists with a single value only, it should just be a matter of parsing for the looked for value.
For instance, I suspect it will be as simple as something like
IFT (type:monstrous) +1d6 fire
All the effect is going to do is to parse the target's type and see if "monstrous" is in the string. It won't care if the string is "monstrous", "elf, monstrous" or "humanoid, monstrous"
But, I don't think SmiteWorks will worry about it until it becomes a thing in one of the official products.
