    Any tutorials?

    Greetings again one and all!

I'm currently in the process of working with FG to begin getting some campaigns together with some friends...and was wondering if there are any tutorials out there on how to get all my ideas sorted and down into FG. IE: How to use the links, text formatting, etc. The documentation I have doesn't help a whole helluva lot (ie: its what came with FG), and was wondering if maybe this is all behind the scenes XML stuff or not?

Thanks for any help people can help

There are no tutorials that I know of. I've learned most of what I know from reading the forums, but I'll try and point you in the right direction.

Sylvain put together a nice set of shortcuts which can be found here.

Some people have different ways of using campaigns and modules which can be read about here.

While a window is open you can hold down a key on the number pad (0-9) and the window will link to that key for quick viewing. However, If you close the window the link will not work, so you have to minimize the window or leave it behind other windows and when you press the assigned key it will open and come to the front.

Also keep in mind that many things can be dragged and dropped to create links for quick references. (i.e. Stories can be dropped onto your map which creates pins that link to them.)

You only need to change the XML if you plan on writing your own ruleset or to change the character sheet. There are many different threads which touch upon XML, but I have yet to find one single source that adequately explains what each xml file in a ruleset contains and/or a table of how the files references each other. This I, and I assume everyone else, just had to learn on there own by looking at and manipulating the files.

The Four Ugly Monsters have also crafted a few very nice tutorials, which you might want to check out.

Thanks Ged. Looking forward to getting back into tutorials (and making the older ones more professional ) once 1.06 is released.
