    Hi there.

    Can you open a cmd prompt and type:
    tracert 8.8.8.8
    and post the output here

    please also describe your network setup.

    Is your internet Fibre, Cable, DSL, Satellite, Wifi, 3/4/5g?
    Internally do you connect by Wifi or Network Cable?
    Do you have a router/wifi and a separate modem or one device?

    Is your network connection set as Private or Public?

    that should be it; and for my internet setup, i'm not a 100% sure if it's fibre or cable but i know it is one of two; i connect with a network cable, and I have both a router and a modem. as for the network connection, i'm pretty sure it's private, but i'm not certain

    This second step is a private IP address - so you have 2 devices between your GM computer and the Internet.

    Yep, 2 devices. I'm assuming the modem is on IP address 10.125.0.1? Can you login to that from a browser?

    You need to setup two sets of port forwarding - from the modem to the router and then from the router to the GM's computer:

    Forward TCP port 1802 as follows:
    1) Modem: 10.125.0.1 -> 10.125.0.XX (the 10... IP address of your router connected to the modem).
    2) Router: 192.168.1.254 -> 192.168.1.XX - your GM computer.

    Or, if nothing other than your router is connected to the modem, you can set the modem to bridged mode so that it passes all data through to the router. This will pass all Internet security to your router.

    I can't connect to 10.125.0.1 because it's not my modem ip, and i have done all the other stuff and i still get a failure on the connection test

    Then this could be a device that your ISP owns. Which might be that they're public IP address pooling, or just don't give you access.

    First step - contact your ISP and ask them to get port forwarding working on TCP port 1802 for peer-to-peer gaming. They may be able to make config changes, or give you a dedicated IP address (which may cost money) - or you may need to look at a VPN solution. But contact your ISP first - and don't take "no" for the first answer, as you might get a tech who doesn't know.
