Wandering Monster table
I must be getting senile or slow or something.
I have a table I am trying to convert. d20, 1-5 is a different wandering monster, 6-20 is nothing.
Each wandering monster is a random number (between 1-6 in most cases) of a specific monster.
So I create 5 random encounters with the right npc and dice in each.
For entries with no encounter, I just type the work "none".
Set output to encounter and drag the link for each of the new encounters I have made for items 1-5.
When I roll 6-20, a blank encounter comes up.
When I roll 1-5, a blank encounter also comes up.
What am I doing wrong?Ultimate License. Running Hyperborea and CoC. Asks lots of questions. Mgpotter.com. PureVPN is a tested solution to run games when traveling. https://billing.purevpn.com/aff.php?aff=33044

Don’t set the output to encounter, set it to chat and your encounter will output a link which you can click on to open it, or state none as rolled.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

Have your encounter entries in the table as [1d6x] (or whatever the value is) and drag the NPC (not the Random Encounter) link to the row.
It won't stop an encounter being made for the empty (none) entries. But it will create the encounter entries for the ones with NPC records linked.
If you don't want the empty encounters coming up then you can try this:
- Create the various "Random Encounter" Fantasy Grounds records as required.
- Create a new table with output to chat
- Create the record rows, drag the random encounter records previously created to the relevant rows.
To use: roll on the table. If an encounter comes up the link to the Random Encounter record will be in the chat window. Click the link to open the random encounter record, then click the "Generate" button to make the actual encounter.Private Messages: My inbox is forever filling up with PMs. Please don't send me PMs unless they are actually private/personal messages. Or make one table with the percentage chance of a monster or no monster and if a monster, roll on a new table (automatically) that just has the monsters in it?
