I admit it doesnt "feel" consistent.
For long time players it is hard not to think in terms of editions.
And on the flip side for many players of D&D this is the only version they have ever known.

Probably when "sixth edition" is released this will become 5E

A discussion of editions on the internet that didn't develop into a flame war??? What kind of bizarre alternate reality is this?

Not a bizarre alternate reality, but the reason I keep coming back over and over and over again - for the people of this Community have proven themselves to be THE princes and princesses of the Internet!

I never claimed to be sane. Besides, it's more fun this way.

LOL. Usually when I hear people referred to as a princess it's a pejorative (like special little snowflake)...thus another excuse for a flame war!

I was trying NOT to be sexist - as in "Prince of the Community", "a scholar and a gentleman" or (in Aussie) "a damn good bloke or sheila"

Oh, I totally get it and in context your intentions were perfectly clear. I was just making light of the subject since I often hear "don't be such a princess" as a way of saying "don't be such a wimp" (which is really a sanitized variation of what people really mean).
