    Questions about the Combat Tracker.

I have several questions about the usage of the combat tracker. 1) Under a NPC, does the Wnd slot for the wound have to be manually entered each time it gets hit. If it does not, how do I get it to autocalculate the damage it has taken. If it does, that sounds like a bad combat tracker. One of the things I had actually hoped for when I bought FG was an autocalculate ability for the wounds of the npcs. Because if this is the case, I still need to bring pads of paper to determine what the hps are per hit. That is exactly what I was looking to avoid with FG. 2)How do I get effects to be operational for combat. When I went to the effects button on the combat tracker, there were no effects available to pick. 3) Can I change the maximum hit die of creature from being average to being rolled? or do I just need to manually enter that in.

I apologize if this has already been asked. I couldn't find any relative links.

Is this for 5e? I'll assume for the moment it is.

1 - The wnd slot will automatically populate as the NPC takes damage. If the NPC was properly targeted by the player then the damage should be applied and added to the wnd field in the combat tracker automatically.

2 - If you click on the little "zombie guy" icon at the top right of your Fantasy Grounds screen (small button next to the +/- button) you will see the conditions that are already pre-built. You can create your own effects and there are resources for classes here on the forums that show pre-built effects that you can drag/drop onto your character action tab. Zacchaeus prepared them. See here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...ul-information (look for the complete package series and you can download each one and then open in FG and drag/drop effects to player character sheets).

3 - Yes. Open your options menu in Fantasy Grounds and scroll all the way down to the "house rules" section. Look for CT: NPC hit points. Change from "standard" to "random".

    Hope this helps!

To expand on Gwydion's answer to #1, yes what you want is possible (assuming 5E and some other rulesets). Make sure that you drag the PC's from their portrait in the top left corner to the CT and from the CT to the map. Make sure that you drag NPC's from the NPC list to the Combat Tracker and then drag from the CT to the map, or use the Encounter functionality to define map location and to add the NPCs to the CT and map using the button.

If you still need help with this topic check out the two wiki articles; 5E Combat Tracker and Tokens and then let us know if you have questions.
