Castles and Crusades
So, here I am sitting in Helsinki, thinking that it would be great to play a game of the new rpg "Castles and Crusades" with my brother, who is in Dayton. He sends me a link to the Fantasy Grounds software, which looks great - and it turns out the company is in Espoo!
Could someone give me a quick 1-2-3 on how one would go about creating a new rules module for FG? Are there licensing issues? I'm a web db systems programmer, so a little programming won't kill me, but I'm not sure about the legal aspects of reproducing rules content. C&C is an OGL game, by the way.
Cheers,
Christopher (in Toolo)

The answers to *some* of those questions
Essentially, the rulesets are XML based. If you look around the boards, you can people that have put out rulesets for AD&D and d20 Modern. That should give you an idea of what kind of work is involved, but again, it's just XML. That must be in your arsenal of tricks as a web developer .
With licensing issues (to the best of my understanding), no problems. I think FG even envisioned that people would create alternate rule systems. As long as the game is OGL, sounds like you should be ok.
This is probably your best starting point:

And I would take a look at these to get examples of how people changed things:

Hope that helps!
