Some questions
Ok, I am about to buy Fantasy Ground:
So far I downloaded the demo version.
I got the physical D&D 5th edition handbooks. I want to use FG like a database for the characters that my friends and I create. Moreover, I could visualize the dungeons. As you can see, I don't want to play D&D only on the internet, but rather using FG as a tool.
I have some questions:
1) In the demo I created a character selecting the 5th edition rules, but there is no dropdown-menu to select the race. Is this a limitation of the demo or do I need the corresponding "D&D Complete Core Class Pack" in order to activate the classes?
2) The corresponding dungeon battlemaps I want to create with "Campaign Cartographer 3". Are both programs compatible if I import the map as PNG?
3) I want to use FG to "supervise" and document the progress of all characters. Is that possible like a database? I would export the data sheet and print it via https://www.alonlinetools.net. Is this possible?
Thank you!

Hi fetito.
The answers you seek are:
1) FG comes with the 5e ruleset built in as well as the free basic DD players rules and basic DM rules and also the SRD. You can create characters with this (albeit in a limited fashion). You can find out how to build characters here.
2) You can create maps in CC3 and then export those as jpg files which you can then use in FG. You can only do some very basic drawing stuff in FG.
3) That's not really what FG is for but it is possible to use it like this. There's some discussion here about using FG as a kind of campaign management tool. And also here about printing characters. If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

1) in addition to the excellent guide in the wiki, this video gives a great overview: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nurEMR4JJeUCreating

With the official license, you will have the SRD 5 content. You can drag the race from the library to your character sheet's race entry and it will populate it, update attributes and add racial abilities for that race. Note, that changing the race will not remove those changes though, so you'll still need to manually undo them if you change the race decision.
If you have the PC Customization pack or the Complete Core Class Pack, you'll do the same thing but then you'll be presented with a list of options for the subrace that you can then read about and choose. The choice will apply slightly different abilities.
