Hide Wound Categories Completely?
Is it possible to finagle the settings so that players do not see the wound categories or damage for npcs?

Short answer I think is no.

Not without editing the ruleset code. You could take Griogre's alternative wound colours extension and edit that to just display the same colour for all wound categories: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...lors-Extension

Actually, I just tried this and got it to work. Leave the monster hidden on the combat tracker. Drag the token onto a map and then set the monster to be always visible so the players can target it. In options change the settings to: Game, Chat: Show results to client: Off or PC. Combat (GM), View: Show health to clients: Off. Token (GM), Token: Show enemy health: Off.
PC's must do all their targeting on the map by drag rolling or using the targeting system. The DM will see all the results and wounds but not the clients.Last edited by Griogre; April 26th, 2015 at 18:37.

Just curious, why do you need to leave the NPC hidden in the combat tracker? Shouldn't the options (results off, CT health display off and Token health off) cover it?
Thanks,

The problem is if you don't hide the monster on the combat tracker, players see the monster status go from Healthy to Dead. The OP asked the players not see the wound status as well. Currently Combat (GM), View: Wound Categories: only has Simple or Detailed Settings. If a "Not Show" was added that just would show a status of "Unknown" then you wouldn't have to hide the monster on the combat tracker, which would make things easier on the DM.

This is a pretty big concern actually as I have had a player call me out for adjusting on the fly when they were steamrolling certain encounters and I was adjusting to make it more challenging. It would help tremendously if they could add a Unknown or blank monster status.

Health visibility is a separate option. The wound category option is only applicable if PC or NPC health visibility set to Status.
