    Calendars

Now trying to sort out the Calendars function in FG.

    From the Wiki

"Initially, the calendar window is empty, and a world calendar type needs to be chosen. First, activate one or more calendar modules by pressing the Modules button, and activating a data module containing calendars. One is provided with FG called "Calendars". Once at least one calendar type has been loaded, just double-click on the calendar type you want to select it.
Once a calendar type has been selected, the calendar window will show the current date/time, the current annual calendar for the specified year, and buttons to access log entries.

First what is a "calendar type"?
Second - when whether I activate "Calendar module" in the library or not I get the same calendar if I click on the calendar button in the upper right. Is there a built in Calendar in the 5E ruleset that is somehow over riding the ones in the module?

The wiki is less than useful on this topic and also on the topic of how to construct a custom calendar. The only posting I have been able to turn up is supposedly on the Steam forums but I get an error message saying they (or maybe just that particular posting) are not available.

    thanks for any help

    Lawrence

Once you have selected a calendar you are pretty much stuck with that calendar within that campaign - which sounds like what you have done.

If you haven't already selected a calendar type (type being the calendar used for your campaign: Greyhawk Calendar, Forgotten Realms, Dark Sun, Eberron, etc.), when you activate the "Calendars" module that comes with Fantasy Grounds you'll see this in the Calendar window:

Double-click one of these calendars and this is the calendar type that will be used for your campaign.

If you want to edit/create your own calendars then this thread (and the one referenced) may help: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...n-on-Calendars

Okay I figured out if you pull up the radial button on the calendar window you can select "Reset Calendar" and then confirm and you get back to the window to choose the Calendar type.

Thanks Trenloe for the link to creating a custom calendar.

Ok, will do. I will write up a short info blurb with some screen shots and send it in.
