Its not exactly the same... but it its similar.
I ran some player and GM intro sessions at FG Con and used the Castles&Crusades ruleset for my sessions.
What timezone (please use UTC) are you in and I might be able to give you a quick run down?

im just watching the plain tutorials and i'm getting the jist of it. Im in China i doubt we'd match up well for time haha but thanks for the offer!

I'm using the character creator... is there no way to have weapons drag and drop or do you just type them all out? same question with classes etc...does the character sheet not manage this automatically or is it just like writing it out yourself?

FOr instance can I just pull over fighter and select a weapon specialization, and roll hit dice and have that added up automatically? Can I add a sword to my inventory and have the game know what dice to roll for it, or do I manage it all?

    thanks

have a few more questions too. On character creation, Im able to create new weapons and list them (still cant link them) but Im not able to create spells.

From the GMs perspective, I can't seem to share the combat tracker or target enemies

Also how can I stop players from being able to request moves with NPC tokens? ANy help is appreciated. I'll be back for more! hah

    thanks guys

@Verbalcody - Im in Aus - so the timezone isnt as bad as you might think.

So... you can definitely drag items from PHB into the Inventory sheet.
Weapons will auto add to Combat sheet at that point

There was a "tween" version of Castles&Crusades that was being developed as v3beta that had more automation - eg you wrote fighter down in your class and half-orc in your race and it added your abilities, required experience, languages - but it was stopped and the ruleset was rewritten to layer on CoreRPG. Its a more basic ruleset in many ways but it gets all the goodness of CoreRPG and that ensure it has the ability to stay updated far more easily... yes - lots of automation was lost - it can be added in by some bright spark (as in someone much cleverer than I) but Im prettyhappy with what we have today.

the devs working on v3beta are much happier that it went this way so Ill take their word on it...

i dont use weapon specialisation so cant comment on that one... probably just edit the weapon using teh magnifiying glass and add mods in their or create an effect and apply it to the character...

swords know how much damage they do - as do axes and crossbows and all manner of other weapons.

whats this linking thing with weapons you cant do?

as the GM you dont share CT - the players can view it anyway - you can use Options to modify what/how stuff is displayed there - eg show NPC/Monster hitpoints or just health

you can lock tokens so players cant move them or you can just whack them with the bad luck stick or the ugly stick every time they move things they are not meant to.

you're the man thanks for all the help.

so on my character sheet creator I open the handbook, click equipment, list equipment, then i see the armors and shields, weapons etc. they are all bold, but i can't drag any of them to the character inventory. Must be missing something. Also I'm having a whole other problem now when loading the character i was working on i get this

Ruleset Error: windowcontrol: Database type mismatch for control (hp) in windowclass (charsheet_main)
Ruleset Error: windowcontrol: Database type mismatch for control (ac) in windowclass (charsheet_main)
Ruleset Error: windowcontrol: Database type mismatch for control (initiative) in windowclass (charsheet_main)
Ruleset Error: window: Control() anchoring to an undefined control (hp) in windowclass (charsheet_main)
Ruleset Error: window: Control() anchoring to an undefined control (hp) in windowclass (charsheet_main)
Ruleset Error: window: Control() anchoring to an undefined control (initiative) in windowclass (charsheet_main)
Ruleset Error: window: Control() anchoring to an undefined control (initiative) in windowclass (charsheet_main)
Ruleset Error: window: Control() anchoring to an undefined control (initiative) in windowclass (charsheet_main)
Ruleset Error: window: Control() anchoring to an undefined control (initiative) in windowclass (charsheet_main)

No idea what is causing it.

Still trying to work through this all

hey Verbalcody - first up something is wrong so close everything and rerun the updater making sure that you have entered your forum username and password in (or did you get this from steam - then clear your DLC and redownload) and update.
you should not be getting so many errors...

    for encounters try this: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/...php/Encounters

crap - you said targeting - try this: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/...kens#Targeting

drag character portraits from top left of screen (after player has selected them) into combat tracker.
drag monsters/npcs from personalities tab into combat tracker - or populate and encounter as per above mispost
drag tokens from combat tracker onto map
this keeps the relationship/link between character sheet / combat tracker / map token

when you click your source (attacker) token make sure it highlights white - if grey click again until white - then control click the target (defender) to create the targeting affect.
if when you roll your attack now (by clicking on the ATK field in the character sheet or the weapon name on the combat tracker for monsters) it only shows attack and dice roll and not success/failure you have to delete your corerpg.pak from rulesets and download again - otherwise it should do all the funky calculations for you and declare HIT!
then you can roll damage dice by double clicking them too...

im off to bed now - but more later

I did try re installing, and clearing local data, no good. Posted on the steam forum too so we'll see what's wrong there

I can target now thats great, thanks! But I still can't attack. The monster attacks just say Attack: weapon. Cant cloick it. Still cant use any weapons from the book, dunno why. Assuming this is where everything is supposed to be clicked? In 3.5 this works, but here it does not
