adding companion to a ranger

I have a ranger just reaching the 4 level. I have the basic familiars in my library but how do I add them to the characters sheet so he can have it.

The easiest way is to add them as a full PC, with their own character sheet.

When you join a game you can select both your main character and the companion to control during the game. This will give you access to companion skill rolls, attacks, targeting, etc..
