Where's the apply wounds modifier button...
... or what is used instead?
Last time I ran SW on FG on the wounds mini-sheet there was a button to apply modifiers, it doesn't appear to be there now?

I think the Wounds are applied automatically, and there is a little red blood drop next to the modifier box that you can toggle to turn it off for the next roll.

The ruleset will do it automatically now. If you want to turn it off for a single roll click the blood-drop icon to the top left of the modifier control under the chat window. There is also "auto apply wounds" in the campaign preferences that can be set to "All", "Physical" or "Off".

I'll take a look and see what I had selected, probably whatever is default.

The wound modifiers do not apply to rolls made from short-cuts, you have to use character sheet or mini-sheet for them to work currently.
My players just defeated an army, had a dogfight with aliens, machine-gunned the zombies, stormed the tower, became Legendary and died heroically
Yours are still on combat round 6

That might have been it. I know players were using shortcuts
