Tables question

I have been making a bunch of tables.

When I make a new one, I get two options... the first is to select the number of rows. This is pretty straight forward.

The second option though, asks me for the number of steps... what is this? At first I thought it allowed a table to roll on another table. But, even tables with only "1 step" seem to be able to roll on other tables just fine. So I don't see what the "steps" is affecting.

Can someone clue me in?

Range of row, so if you make 5 rows and step 4, you will get rows of [1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-16, and 17-20], and it then auto calcs die/dice need to roll for table.
