Furnace - October 19th & 20th

As zackspacks rightly pointed out, it's probably a good idea to have a separate thread for the Furnace convention in Sheffield (UK) rather than mix it with the UK games Expo thread.

So, the low down:

Dates 19th & 20th October

Venue The Garrison Hotel, Sheffield

Registration Opens Likely just after Easter (when then games tsaritsa has returned from abroad)

Registration Fee Likely £20 for two days, £10 for a day ticket

Slots Five - three on Saturday, two on Sunday

GM Benefits Run a game, you get to have a pre-book available for another game

The attendance is normally restricted to 70 and the registrations fill up very quickly once they have been opened.

Just to clarify around the games - you do not pay to play in any game, your entrance ticket covers that.

Signing up for games is as follows:
1. Sign-up sheets go up about 15 mins before the next slot.
2. For every game you run, you can pre-book a slot, which means that your name is printed onto the sign-up sheet. So, if ( like me ) you run 3 games, you can pre-book into the other two.

I would also say, that it is a warm friendly atmosphere. Although the number is fixed, there are a lot of regulars now. When I first went in 2008, I knew only two people. Nowadays, I will easily know over half of the people there, of whom I could just have a beer and a chat with.

I think the list is manually updated, so don't fret. I suggest you get your accommodation sorted pronto though, as the hotel fills quickly. There are several nearby options though.

As to games, I am likely to be running in slot 1 or 2 (likely slot 2) and slot 4.
