Where to put GURPS character files?

What would be the process from creating a character in GURPS Character Assistant, to being able to use them in Fantasy Grounds. I have a test character, that I have exported to an XML file, but I can't open it in Fantasy Grounds, even when I put it in the FG characters directory.

if you used the proper filters from enhanced.vlexofree.com you save whereever.

Note: to deal with NPCs simple use the NPC export filter for GCA (also on enhanced.vlexofree.com) and use the /importnpc from FGII
