4E Parser --> Reference --> Manual
The 4EParser Document does not have any examples that cover this item. Does anyone have any idea what it does or how to use it?
Thanks.

I beg to differ good sir, Reference Manual notes are under the section Reference, in between Powers/Feats/Features and Rituals in the 4EParser Document.txt file.
Code:************************************************* Reference: ************************************************* -Output: Data is displayed Library titled "Reference" -Input: Data File: ZGROUP {Chapter Title} ZSUBGROUP {Sub Title} ZNAME {Article Title} ZTEXT {formatted text} ZLINKBEGIN {file name};{display text} ZLINKEND ZLINK {link class};{id};{optional display text};{[Module Name]};{[Modestring]}* Image Directory: All jpg and png files in this directory will be imported * ZLINK Supported values for {link class} image = adventure image refimage = reference image npc = npc encounter = encounter item = magic item story = story text skillchallenge = skill challenge feat = feat description bground = background description powerlist = list of powers/features featlist = list of feats armor = for individual armor weapon = for individual weapon equipment = for individual equipment ritual = for individual ritual rituallist = for ritual list alchemical = for individual alchemical recipe vehicle = for individual vehicle mount = for individual mount armorlist = for armor table weaponlist = for weapon table equipmentlist = for equipment table alchemicallist = for alchemical recipes list vehiclelist = for list of vehicles mountlist = for list of mounts milist = for list of magic items familiar = for individual familiar power = for individual powers feature = for individual features altpower = for individual alternate powers map = Same as image template = for npc templates {id} based on {link class} image,map = file name including extension refimage = file name including extension npc = name encounter = encounter name item = magic item name story = story entry name skillchallenge = skill challenge name feat = feat name bground = background name powerlist = list of powers/features name featlist = Heroic|Paragon|Epic|Mutliclass|Power Swap|Domain|Divinity armor = Name of non magic armor weapon = Name of non magic weapon equipment = Name of non magic equipment ritual = Name of ritual alchemical = Name of recipe vehicle = Name of vehicle mount = Name of mount rituallist = ignored* armorlist = ignored* weaponlist = ignored* equipmentlist = ignored* alchemicallist = ignored* vehiclelist = ignored* mountlist = ignored* milist = armor|weapon|implement|itemslot|wondrousitem|potion|elixir|whetstone|otherconsumable|reagent|ammunition familiar = Name of familiar power = Name of the Power feature = Name of the Feature altpower = Name of the NPC Alternate Power table = Name of a Table parcel = Name of a Treasure Parcel template = Name of the template * Note these lists are All or nothing. The parser builds the entire list for the module, there are no accessible sub lists ** Note in some cases powers and features have a number assoicated with them due to multiple occurances in the same module. if {optional display text} is ommitted the the parser will use the value of {id} This now supports cross module linking by supplying a Module Name and Modestring as the last 2 parameters. These must be enclosed in square brackets. For example: ZLINK feat;Hide Armor Expertise;[4E Players Handbook 2];[phb2]

Ah, I thank you. I was searching for Manual, not Reference.
So what does this do exactly? Is there an example anywhere that I can reference?Last edited by Jharii; May 4th, 2011 at 19:26.

It essentially allows you to capture non-functional rulebook text for reference during the game. e.g. Players Handbook.
Its accessible under Reference when you open a module. Within reference you can structure the text in a Chapter/Subheading/Article form so that users can read it much like a standard rulebook.FG Project Development

I notice that it is not documented to be able to link to a skill. Was this simply not documented, or is it really not included? I am adding The Complete Book of Skills to my module, and the catalog feature would be perfect for designating primary skills and secondary skills.

To be honest I am not really sure, I can't recall ever having to link to individual Skills before. 4E contains a very small set of Skills, I guess it maybe for this reason why its not documented or supported.

Aye, the small number of skills is why I am adding those. I will test it out once I figure it out.
