How to Creat a Custom Character Sheet???

    Ok, here is the deal:

How to make a Custom Character Sheet?

I don't need any calculation, any processing, just a simple way to create a character sheet and that's it.

Me and my friends are using our own game system, (rule set), and in no way wanna play any other game system. (you'd know this system, you'd agree).

So all we wanna use this software for, is this: Rolling dices, keeping record of entries (like character sheets, or drawn maps), and that's it.

But since we have our own system, we just need to be able to create a Custom Character Sheet.

Are there any way to do this, without having to code some xml or any other language???

I mean, why isn't there a pre-build basic character sheet editor???

    tnx.

If you just want somewhere to store character info, you could use the Base Ruleset and run it with the Generic Extension. There used to be a Generic Ruleset, but the file seems to have been lost.

Finally, if you are happy to code something, the Anatomy of a Ruleset is a partial walkthrough on how to build something yourself. I just never finished it.

For coding-free alternative to create your own character sheet you might want to try out using Unicore ruleset. This ruleset is RPG-system free, meaning that it's not built for any existing RPG-system and it's main idea is to provide very easy way to customize it. For example you can define what characteristics there is in your game without any need to code. You simply list them and give them names in one file and it will affect how the whole ruleset works.

Of course, it really depends on the RPG system you're using. Unicore is meant for systems that have core mechanism of something like this: roll die and add modifiers to it. If your system uses dice pools, then you must code and change things in it. I sent you more information about this ruleset via private message.

I think I'll give a try to the Unicode, seems quiet interesting.

Generic ruleset is available here on the Wiki: https://oberoten.dyndns.org/fgwiki/index.php/Generic

Edit Ah... I see what you mean the file linked to is dead.
I put a copy up on Drop Box until Obe can re-do the link. You can get it here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/16650435/Generic.zip

Unzip the ruleset and drop it in the rulesets folder.

I uploaded your Zip to the Wiki. We're still working on getting things uploaded as people find they are missing.

Thanks for posting up the file!
