    Fg2

    Hi,
I have found the FantasyGround manual but a question came to my mind: I have Fantasy Ground 2 (US) on Seven (windows 7 USA) does the manual be the same or some things don't work or are better than on windows xp?

As far as I have noticed there isn't that much of a difference in the game itself. The only think I can remember between xp and W7 is the root path for the appdata folder is a little different, but nothing else comes to mind.

Are you able to make the app work in w7?
    I am not,
maybe it's some door I do need to open, how can I do it?
    Thanks if you help me.

I'm using windows 7 (64bit ultimate edition) and FG 2 works just fine with me.

If you are getting a connection test failure,

the most likely reason is a firewall.

It appears you have already set up your windows firewall

but it may be that you have a second (hardware) firewall in you modem/router.

to open the port FGII uses (1802) on your Modem/router you have to 'connect' to the

modem's maintenance page and set up the firewall.

This depends on what model of Modem/router you have (and the details should be in the modems manual)

but usually if your computer is connected to the modem/router (either direct by cable, or by wifi)

you can access the modem/routers maintenance page by opening a web browser and typing

    https://192.168.1.1 into the address bar.

this should bring up a login screen. You probably will need your modem/routers username/password

which again should be written in your modems manual. If you have not done this before. the default

is often username: admin, password: admin

Once in you need to set up the connection. This again depends on your exact model of Modem.

On mine (from D-link) you have to go to the advance tab. There you find Port forwarding.

You have to set up a new 'Port forwarding rule'

you can name it whatever you like such as Fantasy Grounds II

then you need to set both the external port and internal port to 1802

and you need to enter an address. I put in 192.168.1.2 as this was the value FGII had filled out on its Internal address

(on the same page as where the server test button is)

    Protocol TCP.

You just need to save this in the modems internal memory and then try the server test button again...

    Good luck
