Mac and Port Forwarding
After spending 12 hours trying to configure port 1802 to my PC, I finally started disconnecting wires. Here is my lesson learned for others:
My set up:
ADSL 2-Wire HG1000 modem
through Linksys Switches to home's Cat 5 cabling
to Apple Airport
to PC.
HG1000 has the PC in the DMZ. Still no connection.
The airport is the culprit. It says it's port forwarding. I followed the advanced settings (from my iMac) to forward 1802-1803 to the static IP assigned to my PC (connected by hardwire to the Apple Airport via another LinkSys Switch). Would NOT connect no matter what.
So, as a last result, I started pulling wire and made a direct connection from the Cat 5 in the wall to the PC. Boom. Success.
Not sure why, but the Airport is the culprit. Those of you with hybrid homes (you know. . . Mac for work and PC for play!), be warned. Try pulling the Airport out of the equation and see what happens.

I have had no issues through an Airport Extreme. Rock Solid.
