    A true one shot?

As sessions generally take longer with FG than face to face, what do you think makes a good one (FG) session scenario? What do you require to have a good evenings (afternoons) fun?

Combat scenes can tend to take longer than RP scenes, however most people enjoy a good fight! So probably a fight scene finale?

A bit of investigation works well (imo) as long as a tight rein is kept on the players, however as players do you mind being chivvied along by the GM?

    Thoughts?

Normally with a one-shot? Make pre-gens. Don't waste play-time on character generation. Be liberal with kills. Heck it is a one-shot after all.

Give the players some bonus to use in another of your games if the roleplay well. Dramatic deaths are fun for everyone.

And ramp up the danger-level all around. Car-chases, beings from the other side.

And most of all? Keep a pace to it, maybe even make dead players "narrator voices" to keep the pace up.

There are seven quite brief mini-adventures available from Chaosium in multiple genres, designed for the BRP rules. You can find them in the free BRP Quick Start Edition.
