In the case of Fantasy Grounds, to play you need only the DEMO software and a DM with the Fantasy Grounds Ultimate (or standard I guess) license.

Also check out Fantasygroundscollege.net. They don't often run games, but they have lots of learning resources and free classes to help you learn not only FG, but how to play D&D too.Quote:
