Are you talking about top arrow or bottom arrow? With his permission I used DaddyOgreman's Overlay extension and added some functionality(and modified it) to it for the OSE ruleset. So you get his death indicator but also indicators for unconscious sleep etc when certain effects are applied to actors on the Combat Tracker. it was called Wound Overlay extension.
The top arrow clears the overlays.

This is really cool. How do you implement this? Do I need to enable/download some extension?
Nope. When your monster takes damage or dies it gets a transparent PNG graphic overlay. When an actor is put to sleep or paralyzed or entangled you get different overlays. Not all effects have an overlay but the ones that helped when I ran a game are implemented. For instance its much easier as a DM to see a Character is asleep when you see its token.
