Keep the closed beta until FGU is ready. But release the MacOS beta ASAP in order to report, please.
Other; We are so close to release (within a year?) that you could allow all purchases starting in December on to just be FGU/FGC purchases. Let them have FGC while FGU cooks, and waive the "upgrade" fee since they are so late in the game.
Seems from all the talk, Option 3 is the way to go.
We still have FGC to use in the interim and will get a finished, polished FGU when it is released.
I voted 3. I think in the long run it is better to have a stable and functional product then getting bad reviews.

I personally feel that completely delaying launch until 2020 to ensure more polish delivers the best product in a timely manner.
I voted option #3.
My suggestion - release the macOS version and let's test network play. Keep testing, for now, internal to the alpha and beta pool of testers. Do a kickass release Q1 2020.
It WILL get slammed on steam if it is released buggy. People don't understand what early access really is so the potential to be flooded with negative reviews will likely slow sales and growth for the program. Ive seen many games that had potential fail through steam from not being polished. It's a shame really.
