Need a poll on which Core Rules module was used to create characters
Initially, I was creating pregens as a GM and when the players tried to click links I noticed my problem, using the non-players module for any pregens is not the way to go.
I did'nt know if there was a difference so i just made all my characters (and most of my PC's characters) using all the GM module versions
I mostly used the Players version - if I remembered. If not, I usually do a quick replacement-text-search. For NPCs that have PC classes I mostly use the non-Players version however.
I don't like the split because it's too easy to use the GM mod by mistake.
Yes the split was needed to put a band aid on a Client memory issue a while back. That issue has been resolved in the Core System, so the split is no longer required as there is not very much GM only info in the Core Rules.
I have plans on making it 1 book only but needed a Idea of what has been used so I can do the Auto update of Campaign and Characters when I do remove the players version.
If I'm touching the PCs sheets I use their book and NPC I make with mine unless a pc may need to play them or have access to the sheet
Thanks for the responces,
The only difference between the two books is the images, and the players book dont have the 1 NPC and Traps, the NPC was input in the book for more of a example of a NPC stat block.
So theres really nothing GM only except the few traps.
My plans are to convert back to a single book after I get caught up.
If you want to start just using the GMs book only for new Campaigns that use new PCs it will be ok.
I will create conversion code that will convert Campaings and PCs to the single book setup automatically when I do thw conversion back.
