Anyone interested in doing a HARP ruleset?

Did you check if MoreCore isn't supporting the roll types in HARP? https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...reCore-Ruleset
No, they have to be compared to custom tables.
But I'm more interested in having character and npc sheets that help ease the burden for the GM.
HARP was the very first ruleset did in back in the days 13 years ago. It was for FG v1.0 :) Unfortunately it is no longer usable because the whole framework engine was changed on 2.0 to what it currently is. I still love the game and have though of doing it again but I don't have the time.
I would have loved to try it.
I think the current advice for niche systems is not to make a custom ruleset, but rather look to make a character sheet for MoreCore and to define the needed rolls for Damned to place into MoreCore. Check out this offer/post;

If you would like more customisation for the HARP ruleset put aside your pre-conceptions about coding and have a watch of this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54PS...qc_9w1TWQfTPUA
This will seriously guide you thru how to make a basic ruleset extension for your system to run on MoreCore
Some parts are MoreCore specific - Rolls - but most of it is completely relevant to extending any other ruleset.
At the end of this (not as yet finished but not that far off) we should have a pretty playable B/X D&D clone.
I am a lousy programmer. Scratch that. Im not a programmer. There is IMO enough material here and presented in small enough chunks that I think a lot of people who dont think they can do this really can - but they will need to invest some time and patience into the project.
While MoreCore is the best bet it simply doesn't fit that well with everything. HARP is basically Rolemaster lite. You cannot do Rolemaster well in MoreCore because its complex nature and HARP follows the same path. You could give a try but I would imagine you would still need to keep everything track on actual paper.
Ive never played RoleMaster or HARP but I did play some MERP in the 80s.
I didnt recall it being complex but I just had a quick thumb thru the MERP rulebook and there are plenty of different mechanics at play...
I was having a vague thought about doing a quick extension... but I might give it a miss... :square:
