Thanks!
Anyone know what time the Unity stuff starts in this video? Watching videos takes too long. Text is so much better... :)

Can't believe you want to wait for me to give you $$................................................ ......:)
What will be needed to make new modules to FGU?
Will it support Linux?
First, love the software. We switched from another VTT to FG and have not looked back. Even with all the quirks, FG is still heads above the competition.
After the stream today I cancelled my monthly subscription and purchased the Ultimate licence because I am excited for what is to come with FG:U
Why you thought work on a 3D map making ability would be a higher priority than implementing some sort of music/sound player in FG:U?
I am very excited for all the things you guys talked about and showed when it comes to the new map making tools and options, but why not create a music play much like your maps, where we can at least drop in .mp3 files and they are distributed to the players much like the maps are. The fact that we have to resort to 3rd party software to add ambient sounds and music is one of the things I hoping was being worked on in the FG:U update.
Could you please explain why you felt that this was not a priority with the new system?
Lastly, During the steam you said that you were not doing the kickstarter to start the dev work (which was obvious from what you showed us), but what if on the off chance the kickstarter goal is not reached? Are we still looking at the same timeline as you mentioned in the steam?
Will we be allowed to stream campaigns in the FG Unity beta or will there be a NDA like many other betas?
I wonder if it will be an issue that my FG account and my KS account use different email addresses.
Yeah! So cool I can't wait for the release! Thank for all the hard work. Go team!
Yay!
So does this mean when we buy a map packs for Pathfinder or Starfinder like modular ones we can use multiple instances and actually put them together? Because if that's the case you can count me in on this Kickstarter! Well you can count me in regardless as Fantasy Grounds is my life but... you know what I mean!
I can't wait for this and get my hands on the beta, so exciting!
As I've bought and buy all of my FG content through Steam and would like to keep it that way. Will we get a product key to activate FGU on Steam as well if we back the Kickstarter?
Given that I can't wait to give you my money! :)
No, you will still be able to participate. You would be running FGU outside of Steam during the Beta period. After it launches on Steam, you can use your key to add it to your Steam account. It won't be a new key. Steam will treat it as if you bought it on Steam all along. This is how people currently handle Fantasy Grounds Classic when they bought it before it came to Steam.
Fantastic!
Ok a thought and a question..
This thread should probably start with a FAQ to ensure the next part (my question) isn’t a rerun.
Q: if I have a beta ultimate license, will I be able to get beta demo’s to my group? If I single machine test this, will localhost still work? Also can I log in twice in the cloud if I have to with ultimate (for live VTT)
I have a question. A friend of mine had the full license since 2009. Only recently (2018+) he upgraded to an Ultimate license. How much will he pay for the ultimate upgrade?
Based on a post from Doug either in this thread or the thread about the stream he'd be considered a Rookie.

Awesome, thanks a lot!
I watched the video and it all sounds great, but the explanation of the price plan was a bit muddled due to Dave having to flip through screens.
So how about a sticky here with the pricing, or if it already resides somewhere else, share a link please(?)

Bah...ninja'd by that dirty Nylanfs
Highly unlikely. Kickstarter collects the money and then there is usually a second "Fulfillment" company involved it just may be Smiteworks here, but it depends on what the Kickstarter pledges includes.
What I am really curious about is how will they go about verifying if you are a Rookie or a Veteran user of Fantasy Grounds? IT seems like they are giving new or recent adapters of Fantasy Grounds a break on the cost for FG Unity in Kickstarter since they just shelled out some money, where those who have been around a bit longer have "already gotten their money's worth" out of FG.
I'd also like to know if I have a standard license now, can I get the Ultimate license at the discounted rate through the Kickstarter.
I added some additional FAQ info to the first post. If you have asked if it will do thing X or thing Y and it doesn't, we won't be putting that in the FAQ. Instead, we are focusing the first post on all the things that FGU does do. We plan to add new features over time but we don't want to highlight them here since that may give the impression that it we have definitely committed to it or that we have an ETA in place for that. We will do our best to add some of these frequently requested items. We just don't want to build up a situation where we set expectations and then fail to deliver.
Hi FG,
I fall under the Veteran Standard User player (purchased Standard (actually converted Lite to Standard in 2018) before 2018).
I’m ready to cross the screen to GM/DM and want to purchase Ultimate.
Is my scenario a consideration in the Kickstarter?
More pointedly...
- should I buy Ultimate BEFORE the Kickstarter and then pay the ROOKIE Ultimate tier price?
Or
- should I try to buy Ultimate DURING the Kickstarter (not sure which tier I would be in then)?
Or
- another scenario I haven’t thought of yet?
Not trying to complicate this... just want to get my thinking [and $$$] straight :)
Thanks for the input
Lee
There is no upgrade of FGC in the Kickstarter, neither is there a "upgrade my current FGC tier to a different tier in FGU" - you either upgrade your current FGC to the same tier in FGU, or you buy FGU new (at the reduced KS price). This currently $140 (FGC upgrade $110 + FGU rookie) or $135 (FGU Ultimate newcomer) - a $5 difference.
The decision point will probably be based off how much you will use FGC Ultimate, or if there is a sale on the FGC Standard to Ultimate upgrade before the KS.
There are periodic sales on the base licenses and this normally applies to the upgrades as well.
Will be upgrading to FGU as soon as the kickstarter begins, currently i have a FGC Ultimate account from 2018, so i guess thats the $30 upgrade right?.
If I buy FGU ultimate by the time kickstarter comes around, will this also give me access to FGC?
Any thoughts on how current (FG Classic) libraries will work during (and post) beta? If i have items bought via both steam and the website, will I have access to them via beta, or do i have to export relevant material and "start fresh"?
Any help/clarification would be appreciated!
PS:
I'm also going to add my name to the growing list of people requesting the ability to upgrade from standard to ultimate via kickstarter1
