I did have to go through the same process as Timberbeast to get it to update, however. Of course, that is probably a Forge issue. (edit: Originally it just kept the same version. I had to disable, update, enable, update)

Was having troubles with double weapons and narrowed it down to this extension. When added to the inventory and equipped, a double weapon with different damage and critical for either end is just taking one of the listed damage dice and critical and applying it to both ends. If there is a different damage type for either end, that is getting applied correctly.

The player can work around it by just editing the weapon after its been equipped, but I thought I'd let you know.

So I just started to play with this, I have found that I am only showing one item from the inventory and not each of them [Ex: Character has both Wand (Cure Light Wounds) and Wand (Cure Moderate Wounds)] Not getting any errors just not showing even when equipped.
To clarify, are you using the version that is available on the Forge? The one attached to the first post here is very old.
Hm. Have you tried disabling any other extensions you're running to see if it works then?
If it doesn't, can you send me the campaign (or just a character) for testing?
Lastly, do you have a spells module loaded?

Hello, I recently received this error message when trying to "overnight rest" while using this extension via the combat tracker and character sheet (PFRPG campaign)
[2/5/2023 5:12:38 AM] [ERROR] Script execution error: [string "..vanced-Item-Actions:..ar_invlist_ACIM.lua"]:52: attempt to index local 'string_spell_name' (a nil value)
Attemping to rest results in the above message popping up in addition to hit points and spell slots not being recovered.
This seems to be some sort of extension conflict (doing the same in a fresh campaign with only Advance Item Actions works fine). I am posting here because the name of this extension pops up in the error message and I would like to check if something like this has happened before before checking all of my (many) extensions manually.
I haven't heard of any such thing, but can give you some hints:
That code is only executed when items are added, identified, un/equipped, have their quantities changed, or (in the case of wands) have their count changed. Specifically, the code is trying to determine the name of the spell but not finding one.
So probably first check extensions that are doing stuff with the character's inventory on a rest.
If that doesn't give you any ideas, I can whip up a special ext file for you that will help figure out which one is causing it.
EDIT: I have queued a fix to stop the script error at least, but intend to release it along with the new ruleset updates later this month.
I believe that I have had a similar error in the past.
If it's the one I'm thinking of, check the wands in the PC's inventory. Sometimes a wand will not actually have any charges on it when you open the specific item window, which will generate an error on overnight rest for some reason.
The culprit appears to be an item called "Multiple Spell Scroll" from the AP I am running right now. Given that the item doesn't follow the usual spell scroll conventions (there is no one specific spell to find) I am guessing that is what caused the issue. Deleting the item allows normal resting with health and spell slots recovered.
Thank you bmos and Scribbling Rambler for pointing me in the right direction. I would never have thought to check specific items on my own.
aha! thanks for pinning that down. I guess it's trying to find the spell name of that scroll which has neither "of x" or (x) to show the name in the title.
I'll keep the error from occurring in such a situation but it will not auto-add the spells to the spells tab.
If you can send me a screenshot of how that appears in the AP I can look into adding support for "multiple spell scrolls" which are actually a thing according to rules although in my experience they're rarely used.
I can't seem to get his to work anymore. I'm using 3.5E, and I've removed all extension but his one. Equipping potions no longer adds and action item to the Actions tab. I've changed nothing else. I tried a wand and it didn't add anything either. Version of the extension is 1.13 - I've updated several times so it should be the latest.
I have a question, I'm sorry if you already answered this.
If you have four potions of cure light wounds in your inventory tab and you click off one of the potions in the action tab, if I long rest the group does it minus the potion or do you still have to minus it from the inventory tab yourself?
I'd test this myself but we ended the meet in the middle of a battle.

It's February 1st, 2025. Should this extension still work? If so, are there any incompatibilities?
I'm running: v4.6.4 ULTIMATE (1/21/2025)
I tried to run with it, but an error is thrown when doing an inventory action that would be affected by the extension (adding a wand of cure light, for example). i can provide the error, but there's no point in cluttering if the extension is known not to work at this time.

Never mind... I already had subscribed (!) to the renamed extension (which appears in The Forge).
And, not only that, but it does work correctly (I took my player's report that things weren't working without checking out the situation.)
So, this series of posts can be ignored, except to note that, yes, as of 2/1/2025, the "Advanced Item Actions" extension from The Forge is, indeed, working.

p.s. I am having a problem with 'action tab' entries not disappearing when the item (wand, staff, whatever) has been removed from the inventory. However, I'll take that up separately after today's game session.

Has anyone else had an issue with spells above level 1 importing as cantrips? I've been able to make it okay for potions by having a potion specific version of spells I want imported all at level 1, but when adding anything that references a spell above level 1 it imports it as a level 0 cantrip instead. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if it's a known issue.
From what I understand it seems like it's meant to create a level 1 caster slot for the spells regardless of level, instead anything that isn't already level 1 is getting turned into a cantrip.
Adding cure potion and wands are not working anymore. Does anyone know if this extensions is still being worked on?
