I have been playing a campaign in CoC 7e and we have noticed some things.
The skills list on the character sheet won't let us edit the Occu. column for most skills, except for credit rating...
The only way to open the window with the skill description is if the character is locked. You unlock the character sheet and it allows you to edit the skill name, the Per., and Spent columns, but you loose access to the skill description. If the character is locked and you click on the name it opens the window for that skill.
If you create a new blank skill and enter the data into it, and give it the name of an skill in the rules it starts opening the skill in the skills list instead of the one you entered.
This really needs a different way of opening the skill window.
We are not using any extensions.
Well the skill needs to be an occupation skill in order to allow you to edit the occupation points field. When unlocked, you can click on the name of the skill to open the skill record to see all it's details. As for making a skill using the same name it will use the skill for the era that has been selected. So if you create a new skill on the character sheet and use a name that is already for another skill, it will use that skill record.
Tried to add a new character to my CoC 7th game and when I added the criminal occupation it unlocked the occupation window but I couldn't edit the skill list or select appropriate skills.

Are the other combo boxes populating? What Era have you chosen in the options? Is that era available as a record and does it have skills populating that era?
1920's and none of the dropdowns are populating. I was using criminal for this character but I tried to create new characters using occupations that I had used on previous characters and none of them appear to be working.
Not sure where you are running into the issue as It's populating for me

What I can suggest is removing the eras and reloading the campaign for them to repopulate. ***NOTE*** This would include custom eras. I would suggest backing up the campaign before you attempt if you have done anything homebrew or custom within the eras.

That solved my problem, thank you very much
