Paizo and SmiteWorks sign an agreement for official Pathfinder support!

Hey guys, I thought I would chime in here.

We have some delays that are only partly under our control related to store integration and it doesn't look like we will launch until those are ironed out. The content itself has been approved already but due to the delays, we decided to further enhance the product. These required some code changes and supporting data changes, but they were relatively quick turn-arounds. In a lot of our products, we have done releases and then done future enhancements after the fact. These just went in prior to release. It was good before. Now it is even better.

I don't expect that we will launch this week and next week seems unlikely.

Expect longer than that to avoid disappointment.

I have been waiting and checking since december. It is a shame actually, I know of a few sales that fantasy grounds has lost given the delays (not blaming fantasy grounds, just being aware of friends who were certain and have now moved on to other options).

First to market is, indeed, a powerful driver of sales and market penetration/adoption. But it's not the only driver. Quality, features, and use-ability are stronger and more sustainable foundations. The cream usually rises to the top.

Well to be fair there's no other VTT out there that's releasing Pathfinder (d20Pro does not seem to be ready either). So for the excellent engine that FG sports I can wait, I just wish that we got nicer themes for our Core RPG ;)

Given the impending release of the new Pathfinder content, is it time for Pathfinder to get a 'promotion' on the Fantasy Grounds home page? We know from the usage stats that Pathfinder is the second-most-played system in Fantasy Grounds, yet it's tucked away under "Other Rulesets" on the panel showing "Officially Licensed Systems"...

Update: I finished the store integration development on Friday and now we are just waiting on everything to be finalized and set up for "LIVE mode". That means that you'll be able to buy directly from Paizo.com (at a discount if you already own the PDF there) or buy from here at MSRP and have the purchase sync back to Paizo.com so you can get the PDF. I believe you will be able to get the PDF for free when you do that, but there might be a discounted cost instead. I haven't seen how they will handle it exactly on their end, but they have all the purchase info they need to handle whatever decision they decide to implement. Steam purchases, unfortunately, won't be able to link back to Paizo.com at all. The sync will require you to initiate it and we will provide instructions for doing that after we complete the final testing and it is LIVE.

I don't have an ETA for launch yet.
