Try deleting the image from the image list and re-importing it.
You could also try /reload in chat. But that will reload the whole ruleset and campaign.
Metadata is cached with the token instance once it is read to prevent reading the metadata every frame. This is on a per token basis. You should be able to delete the token and add a new one to update the metadata. I'll have to check if this is accurate. If not, I can look at adding the XML to the asset refresh.
I've found that data is being cached somewhere and you have to slightly rename the asset in order for the new XML to kick in. Even logging out and logging back in doesn't seem to clear it.
No, what I was saying is delete the token instance from the image. It's possible that the metadata gets embedded into the current database when it is read. I'm not sure about that, so I will have to check. If it is, I'll look at adding the metadata to the asset refresh.
I've done some checking, and the metadata will not be updated if changed after it has been loaded the first time. We're investigating updating the asset refresh button to update metadata, as well.
Thanks. I added a feature request for it a couple of weeks ago: Refresh Asset XML.
I was able to get the token metadata to update when assets are refreshed. This only works on the host, the updates are not send to the client as this would require resending all metadata. My assumption was that you would like to update the metadata without a reload while you are tweaking the metadata for tokens. If so, this should meet the requirement.
This is only available in v4.6.0; which is only in the Test channel currently.

Umm... you did something to the macOS app, and it doesn't download correctly. It only downloads the Contents folder, not the app. Which really sucks for me, as I must have accidentally deleted mine, and now I can't download the correct one, and I have a session in like 30 mins. :hurt:
EDIT: Fixed on my own.
ALSO, I keep forgetting to mention this: The app as is, won't run on a Mac, because the actual executable file ('/Contents/MacOS/FG Image Metadata Builder') is not in fact an executable file for Mac. I fix this by running a chmod -R 777 <path to specific file> terminal command. It should be noted that for this to work, the whole path must have no spaces (including the file itself). So, when I do this, I actually rename the 'FG Image Metadata Builder' file to remove the spaces. BUT, I then have to restore its name in order for the app to run.
It would be appreciated if you guys do this so we don't have to jump through these hoops every time we download this.
Hello Vass_Dts,
Are you still having issues with this app? I looked at the MacOS.app file that is created for the build and it appears to only have the Contents folder in the most recent version and also in the previous version. It sounds like you may have been able to get it working again after doing the CHMOD.
I just posted new builds for Windows PC, Mac, and Linux. The new version adds a few quality of life updates to help position images properly or to check the settings of an image that already has metadata.
- The clip region is drawn in red.
- The measurement region is drawn in green.
- The floor location is drawn as a yellow X.
Nice, thanks.
Using the updated version on Linux - the green and yellow and red boxes do not appear. Works as before just no visual aid.
I should probably put a version #. Are the buttons red, green, and yellow? If not, then it sounds like the update didn’t take.
No change to UI at all. Will test again this evening (12 hours from now).
Appears identical in every way to the last version for me on Linux.
Hi Doug,
Do we need to redownload the tool or will our already installed version update?
Also reporting no change to the UI for the Mac version.
