Woo, that works:) Thanks a bajillion!
@Pyro: thanks.
I have noticed that the tool can stop updating the tiles window when you change collection sets or start a new map.
When this happens, you can no longer select new tiles and the only way to get it working again is to reload the whole page (consequently losing any unsaved changes).
Not sure if its a Flash bug or a problem with the Flash player under Chrome (Mac) but as I cannot get the app to work in either Safari or Firefox on Mac I can't tell.
Also the throw distance of shadows on smaller plants like bushes etc. is too long, making placed small bushes looking odd and raised off the ground. This is even more pronounced if other large objects are placed nearby.
@DrZeuss: that was my bug, and now it's fixed, thanks.
This is so beautiful and wonderfully executed, thanks pyro! I'm really impressed at how professional the maps can look, even with only a few minutes of time devoted to the program. I hope you will continue to expand the default art assets, that is a huge component in its overall usefullness for most GMs, especially those who need to slap together a map in a hurry or with little prep.
So great!
I just discovered this great tool. I may never make a map with Gimp again. Thanks, pyro!
Thank you thank you thank you! I was dying in Tiamat.
Hi, all. Good news!
As you know, flash has limitation
of maximum size of generated image file size,
but now Dungeon Painter is able
to generate realy big jpg & png files.
When i tested new export methods i created
15.000x10.000px jpg file.
Awesome, thanks! I never make maps that big, but it's good to know the capability is there.
This is the message I get going to this site:
https://safebrowsing.clients.google....hrome&hl=en-US
someone hacked his hosting account and uploaded a trojan/malware installer...
That's not good. Hope it gets fixed soon....I like this program :(
Hosting was not hacked,
seems like one of used wordpress plugins was vulnerable.
I've moved site to another engine,
and now it works fine, with new design.
That sounds much better!
Very Nice looking little tool
My only question is there a tutorial somewhere to help me learn the controls?
spend 5 mins playing with it.
its pretty intuitive.
you can t break anything.
oh - one tip - when you click on new library/collection/whatever - give it a chance to download the images.... a little patience when switch to new categories will go down well...
I found the best way to get a handle on it was to just start messing with the controls and see what does what, but then I usually do that even when a manual is included. :D
I was getting a security error from my virus protection when accessing the site and then the flash would not load completely. Bombed out.
I had used it before, like a month or so ago, worked fine?
Anyone else have problems, AMonkeyWithAFez spoked?
@Kefrem
To learn the controls, let's watch this screencast
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8EFGpBN6aQ
If you want to use hotkeys, just press 'Hotkeys' button in main menu.
You may rebind all of them.
Was just playing with this and thought i would share. Took like 6 minutes to do. Some of these old threads need new life. Great map tool
Chris
Seems when I log on it does nto work for me!
I use IE so it should work right?
Not sure but I would have to say yes. I use firefox not IE but I would think you just need to update your Flash plugin or something.
Chris
What do you actually see when you say it doesn't work?Quote:

So, as Madman suggest, I probably don't have flash properly installed for 64-bit IE - you might see the same for yours (32- or 64-bit) if Flash isn't installed.
I usually use Chrome and don't have a problem loading the page. I also just tried IE 64 and 32 bit and the page loaded in both without any problems. Since I use Jing to make Flash videos for an app that requires IE, I know I have recent versions of Flash for IE.
Has anyone made a collection for Pyromancers' Dungeon Painter? It'd be fantastic to see a community around this tool, like there is around Dundjinni (which can't be purchased anymore).
Honestly, you have no idea how grateful I am for this. I bought a full license ages ago and I am just now getting around to starting a game for some friends. The versatility and efficacy of this flash app is astounding. I would recommend setting up donations for this project as I would gladly help support this.
Has the dd3color library been deleted/removed from Pyromancer's site? I'm getting errors trying to load an old map I was working on late last year and can't seem to get that one to show up.
Was that ever there as a publicly available library? Did you add it yourself through the "Add your collection" button?Quote:

Mind you, I'm guessing that Wizards wouldn't be too pleased with scans of their dungeon tiles being made available either...
I never added it. I've just been using the builder "as is" from when I first discovered it a while back. When I recently went to reload a map I had been working on several months ago is when I got an error message that collection was "not found".Quote:

Ive also tried firefox, and google chrome to no avail and updated java and adobe flash player.

When you you can't get the site to open - exactly what do you mean? What happens? Do you get any error messages? Please provide as much info as possible to enable to community to help you. :)Quote:

It appears the pyromancers.com is failing to respond. It does not respond to ping as it times out. So it is probably something with pyromancers.com.
Thanks ill keep trying and see if any of my friends can get it to open i know they werent having a problem with it last night ill check and see if they are today. If anyone else has any ideas ill check back regularly.
I know I have been having issues with it for a few weeks and I just assumed they took it down. Try sending pyro a pm if he is still around or an email if you can find it and let him know what is going on with it.
I can access it: https://pyromancers.com/dungeon-painter-online/
confirmed working here too...
maybe the issue has been resolved now.
Works fine. And I hadn't seen this existed before. cool!
