I don't think I have a custom effect that combines those two effects. However, I'm puzzled as to what custom list you are referring to "in the top left of FGU". Can you please clarify where I can look for this custom list?

FWIW, I did a test in a new campaign with the same extensions loaded and the effect works as expected--only Prone is applied. So, it must be something in this campaign that is causing this issue. I have been using Fantasy Grounds since 2017, but I must be having a brain fart because I can't figure this one out. :confused:

My brain knew top right but my fingers type top left.

So check the custom effects list. Listed in the top right of FGU.

At some point, I had created one for "Prone; Incapacitated", just as you suggested. As soon as I deleted that, the other effect worked as expected.

I had no idea that you could reference other custom effects by a name in the coding (e.g., using "Prone" to call "Prone; Incapacitated"). I'll need to be more careful how I format effects from now on and find a way to use that to shorten some of the expressions. Thanks again!

The HEAL effect, is there a way to make it 0.5? I tried HEAL:half and HEAL:0.5 and HEAL:.5 and RESIST: heal and RESIST: healing but none of these did anything. *evil DM grin*

Trying to use the Blissful Ignorance extension's HEALMULT: 0.5 didn't seem to do much. I'll post this in that thread too (in case it's a known conflict/bug).

It doesn't factor in 1/2 points, there is no way to add a 1/2 of a hit point.

What "HEAL: 1" does is add 1 point of healing when you heal something, so there wouldn't be a case to add .5 healing to something.

Thanks for the quick clarification.

I had made a curse(d item) that makes the individual weak, and reduces their ability to heal/recover. This applies disadvantage on saves vs poisons and diseases, vulnerability to poisons, and halves the amount of healing they receive.

In light of what I've learned, I just added hidden effects to the party healers and the victim of the curse:

To Victim: EntropyCurse; VULN: poison; DISCOND: poisoned; DISCOND: diseased
To Healers: IFT:CUSTOM(EntropyCurse); HEALMULT: 0.5

Seems to do what I'm looking for so far.

You can use

HEALEDMULT: 0.5

Instead of adding an effect on healers.

Oh, missed that command, sweet!

It looks like the "two-handed" tag, such as when used in "IF: WEAPON (two-handed); ATK: 10" isn't being recognized. Other tags like "heavy" being used in it's place work, but "two-handed" doesn't.

Any advice on how to automate Empowered Evocation?

You aren't going to be able to get that level of granularity. You may however, with another extension, be able to define claw and bite as weapons, add those weapons to the NPC. Add a property to the weapon, and key off that with the WEAPON conditional operator, but that seems way more work than just remembering to click the adv button when needed.

It is an NPC that has joined the party and it's worth my effort to automate it if possible.

I'm not sure I understand the method of keying off the WEAPON conditional operator... but I tried the following, which seemed promising:


I have created an Item: "Shark Bite (Hybrid Form Only)" with Effect Feature: "Blood Frenzy; IFT: WOUNDED; ADVATK" with "ActionOnly" checked and equipped it...

The action is added to the NPC and the effect is automatically applied when equipped.

Unfortunately with "ActionOnly" checked, it doesn't seem to process the effect. If I uncheck it, it does process it, but for all attacks (including claw which is what I'm trying to avoid).

So I guess it seems like "ActionOnly" doesn't work, or I don't understand how it works.

Tested with only the following loaded (same result as with 100 extensions loaded):

Advanced Effects
BCEG
Theme: Hearth
5E - Combat Groups FGU

I'm not sure that would work, or at least I've never tested NPCs with weapons with Action Only. Probably a simple enough fix in AE but I don't know if that data is passed down. But I think if you put in the bite weapon property "blood frenzy" and used IF: WEAPON(blood frenzy); that might do it.

Hmmm... doesn't seem to work... even removing the IFT: WOUNDED for now...

You'd need to guard the ADVSAV. IF: ATK(weapon,spell); ADVSAV; SAVEONDMG: DC WIS; (R) (C) might work?

for the last month or so this has been completely busted if using with MCDM's Kingdoms and Warfare module. disabled K&W and it works fine.

I have a feeling Kingdoms and Warfare is horribly out of date. Have you tried posting in that thread?

I have been keeping K&W mostly up to date (though I'm not the original developer nor a user of the system); so not sure why there would be issues, but not familiar enough to know for sure. I do know that they do some of their own effect overrides. I can get you copy of extension if that helps.

as long as i have K&W loaded i get "[ERROR] Script execution error: [string "..erCombatEffectsGold:..er_effect5E_bce.lua"]:983: attempt to call upvalue 'decodeEffectFromCT' (a nil value)" anytime i attempt to mouse over an ability in the combat tracker, and lose any ability to activate things from the combat tracker.
