  1. Blogging the Apocalypse - Part 2

In my last post, I discussed how to set the stage for the adventure Princes of the Apocalypse. In this installment, I reveal how my players unearthed the haunted keeps as the adventure leads them deep into the Sumber Hills.

This post contains spoilers for the Wizards of the Coast adventure Princes of the Apocalypse. You have been warned...

By now, the characters should be armed with a lead or two to help them with their initial search for the missing Mirabar delegation. ...

  2. Blogging the Apocalypse - Part 1

I recently ran a group of 5 players through the D&D 5e adventure Princes of the Apocalypse on Fantasy Grounds, and due to the non-linear nature of the module, I thought a recap would be useful to DMs thinking of running this.

We played once a week for 3 hours and finished the adventure in about 11 months. I chose to start at level 3 because I was worried that my players would lose interest in the series of introductory quests (Adventure in Red Larch), which strike me as random and ...

    So many zeroes...
Character creation can be fairly quick for an experienced FG user. On the other ...

  5. Looking ahead to a major DCC RPG ruleset update!

Well, I finally leveled up my coding skills and gave the DCC RPG ruleset a long-overdue upgrade. When I built ruleset v1.0, my initial goal was to provide a very simple means of playing DCC RPG on Fantasy Grounds, and that meant excluding many of the awesome features in the 5E ruleset. The DCC rules tend to shun complexity, leaving much of the decision-making to the judge, and I wanted to build a ruleset that followed that aesthetic. But sometimes simplicity can be overly constraining, and with ...
