I was messing around with icons and images and came up with the idea of having an image of a figure that you can change items of clothing, accessories, hair and face by simply clicking on various parts of the image.

I didn't know whether or not it would be a welcomed extension. What do you think? Alot of image work required but it could be helpful if you quickly need to create an NPC.

Well I imagine it'd be a fun toy at the least and useful for creating something to show off for the players. With a simple interface it could become REALLY useful if you limit the size of the base images to just a few K each.

Interesting idea, but like you said, I think that ultimately the graphical workload will kill you.

It might work as a visual expression of health. Base image plus a rising red line to denote health.

Thanks guys.
I thought a number of sub-windows could be used for different genres of clothing. A few generic base figures of different races and sex would be available.

thinking about it...it is a little gimmicky....maybe for dedicated groups it could be used for character pics. I know several groups that do this sort of thing on pen and paper, updating their characters with the latest armour, weapons, etc that they find.

I am liking the health meter idea. could even do a kinda Pipboy style form Fallout that shows the state of each limb. hmmmm maybe I should get back to messing about with my Fallout ruleset. :)

Like most of you I have so many ideas for FG that I don't know which to concentrate on first.

I know the thread is quite cold, but how was this done? This might be helpful for something like Aces & Eights, depending on how it was done.

This was done using the 'change icon state' function. A number of overlapping frames allows for numerous combinations.

I also put together a 3 x 3 grid of tiles that could be cycled thru to produce various maps from a basic tile set.
1003 1004
To cycle- the GM simply right clicked on the edge of each tile to go forward and middle clicked to go back thru the various tiles.
I was going to code a couple of mini games ( a car combat game and a 'last night on earth' clone) that would utilize this function... but like so many projects real life got in the way. :s
Anyone know of any other ways this tiling effect could be achieved, perhaps using a drop down list to choose images to display in each frame? could this been set to be randomly generated to produce totally random maps? any ideas?

If you're able to move things around, this would be a good application of a tarot deck. If you can randomize a deck of cards and then move them into the appropriate place, you could click on them to reveal the card as well.
