Got a buddy that wants to play but may have some trouble finding a Windows machine. Are there any workarounds for Macs?
Thanks.

At the moment FG is windows only. But, yes there are workarounds. I've only run it with bootcamp on my new Intel MacBook. I've also heard that it will run with the latest version (2.?) of VMware Fusion, which I haven't got yet.
Here a couple of threads discussing it.

I believe the best sober advice is that the product hasn't been designed to run outside the windows environment.
Its always nice to welcome more people to the community but I wouldn't want anyone to expect that emulating windows to run this program will be easy or perfect. Some have had varying degrees of success with emulators but these are not guaranteed in any way.
Seriously, rewriting a program for other platforms, even tweaking it for different emulators is a fair bit of work and I've never heard of it being done by anyone connected with Smite Works. Of course I could be wrong but I think thats the best response we can give on the board.

The program though is just a lua script interpreter... so in theory it wouldn't be that hard to get it to run in other platforms. The only major thing is the reliance on Direct X...

Erm version 1 had no support for LUA at all, the addition of LUA was one of the major upgrades to version 2.
The application was written for Windows so it is no small thing to convert it to support the Mac the use of DirectX I suspect is only one of many coding changes that would need to be made!
That said give it time and I am sure a non-windows version will arrive...
