I'm here to drum up some interest for a friday night SW game. Read below for the "cast" of powers that can be found on the open ocean.

Also, check out the profession edges @ https://www.pisian.com/professions.html
for some character ideas.

CAST

The Bronze
Justified by its goal of trying to eventually return life to the “way it was”, the remnants of the old government will use force to take anything perceived as being useful for the cause of security. A handful of flagship class warships sail the high seas obtaining all battle worthy ships, through negotiation if possible, but by force if necessary. In response, smugglers, traders, and pirates generally resort to one of two typical strategies: sailing run down ships that will not attract the bronze’s interest or fielding an expert crew and a well-maintained ship capable of evading the bronze.

Greenies
Until their race can learn to master the winds, the brunt of the Orc’s tsunami of chaos and destruction will not reach the islands. On occasion though, independent warlords who are eager to bring back a prize to their warrior-kings have been spotted recklessly probing the seas for prizes in their lumbering oar-powered galleys. Rumor has it that the wilier of these warlords will even arrange deals with human traitors to gain passage into the deep seas in search of prey.

Pigeons
For those shut out from the Bronze’s island fortresses, there are dozens of fragile and independent settlements scattered throughout the islands. Some of the people of these settlements (collectively “pigeons”) have prospered to a degree; however, most have embraced the philosophy that time should be enjoyed until their inevitable demise. In any case, most of these pigeon colonies have some sort of leadership that can and will confront minor threats to the local peace. Major threats, such as a bronze sweep for metal and guns are usually met with subterfuge and evasion.

Pirates
At a time when humankind is at its greatest need, these charming sociopaths prey on pigeon colonies for fun and profit. Ironically, these pirates are probably the pigeons’ only really hope for a future, as their drive to explore, willingness to associate with anyone, and “flexible” morality, leave them more likely than anyone else to pull off the kind of hail mary needed to give the pigeons a legitimate future.

Militiamen
These grizzly types gained their notoriety by holding mainland fortifications abandoned by their government long enough to provide cover for the unwashed masses to retreat into the oceans. Most of these men, now middle-aged or older, intended to step aside for the next generation and to live out their remaining years in peace and tranquility. Restlessness has set in, however, and now many of these old men are keen on going out in an unpredictable blaze of glory.

Drifts
The halfling’s peaceful flotsams and traveling junks can be an oasis for any seaman stranded in the deep sea. Far away from any landmass, these “drifts” are out of reach of the greenies’ galleys, and can typically elude the bronze as well.
