Hi
I'm new to FG2, purchasing recently specifically for Call of Cthulhu ruleset.
It looks great, though I have 2 questions.

1. How can I view the rulesbook module while in the "Create and View local characters" mode? I would2 like to be able to access some of the dragable features of the weapons lists etc. Or does this mean I need to be in gamemaster mode to create my characters.

2. Is there any kind of software that can convert Html books into the module format.
I use Plucker to create indexed and hotlinked books for my palm pilot and it would be cool to be able to convert them to FG2 modules.

Cheers Thete

Hi Thete and welcome to the forums!

1. How can I view the rulesbook module while in the "Create and View local characters" mode?

Very few rulesets support the 'create and view local characters' mode, I think there may be one or two out there, and unfortunately Call of Cthulhu isn't one of them. If you are going to be the host/referee of a game, you should start FG in the 'Host a game as gamemaster', start your new campaign and add the characters from there.

If you are going to be a player, you must select 'Join a game as a player', connect to the Referee's session, and create a character from there. In either case you will have access to the reference modules.

2. Is there any kind of software that can convert Html books into the module format?

I'm not aware of any software already set up to do that, but if your html is well formed, it might be possible to write some XSLT to convert it. I'm not very familiar with XSLT, but it is handy for translating XML from one structure to another, and well formed html is a kind of XML.

Cheers
