Looking for a 3.5 preferred, but I'll play 4E...although I'd have to be taught the new system. I don't have any of the 4E books either.

EST time, looking for Late Afternoon/early evening till around midnight or 1am latest.

No homebrews please. I've yet to find a homebrew that isn't just a rip off of a name brand setting, or just plain cheesy.

This raises a good point. I've been out of the FG circle for a number of months, and now that I want to start up again with my 3.5 module/campaign (or another one I am brewing)... is it a relic? Will it "work" with FGII, meaning is there any support for SRD rules and so forth?

TIA!

WotC recently pulled the d20 license. Because of this the latest version of FG removed the old d20 ruleset and added the foundation ruleset. The foundation ruleset has all the basic functionallity of the d20 ruleset (and a bit more actually). You can continue to run you campaign using the d20 ruleset, however if you are at a breaking point in your campaign it would be wiser for future updates to convert your campaign to the foundation ruleset and use the 3.5 ruleset extension to the foundation ruleset.

Thanks for the quick reponse.

I checked the links. Shows what I know, I was using SRD as my only ruleset. Where is this "fundation"? And is there a D&D 4e ruleset available? How is it being received? Like I said, I've been out of the loop for a little while.

Thanks again.

I misspoke slightly, I guess WotC has not yet officially pulled the plug on the d20 license. If you have updated FG2 to version 2.3.6 then you have the foundation ruleset. To start a new d20 campaign you would create a new campaign using the foundation ruleset and then select the 3.5 extension. For ongoing campaigns you need to change a few lines in the xml of the campaign files as described in the thread I linked to above.

There is no license available to do a 4E ruleset so Smiteworks can't support one. However there is a nice fan developed one by over at Four Ugly Monsters. You can get it by joining the 4E Development group. https://www.fouruglymonsters.com/

Fourth Edition sold very well selling out the first printing before release, however this was dispite one of the worst botched marketing effort I have ever seen for a successful product release. WotC/Hasbro have put such a low priority on the 4E third party license they *still* have not released a final version. Thus there is very little direct support from third parties who can't legally sell things until the license is finalized. A few publishers have released some products "compatible" with 4E, but most have taken a wait and see attitude. Obviously these are all my own opinions.

You are correct, of course. I haven't started the FG2 app for a few months, I'm sure the update will take effect...

...which begs another concern. The last major update affected some (but not all) of my campaigns; those written by others and one by me. I'm guessing I need to make a few edits to the XML, as you suggested above.

I'm starting an adventure soon hopefully.
It's a three part campaign published by Wotc and starts with "Barrow of the Forgotten King"

I'm planning on running it on Wednesday nights from either 5 or 6pm until 9 or 10pm.

bump - still looking for a good game, and a good DM. I've yet to find both, and not just one or the other.

So pick a published world and DM. Two birds one stone.

I've been put back on a nightcheck schedule so any games from around 8pm till 6am EST I can play in. 3rd or 4th edition, doesn't matter. Day doesn't matter either.

Any groups out there able to pick up a player?

I am trying to get at least 6 players for my campaign "Annals of the Prahvian Exploits" and looking for people who can play Friday's starting at 6:00 pm Mountain time, (5pm pacific, 7pm central and 8pm eastern.) I am in Mountain Time zone GM-7. You may want to check my campaign out in the calendar. https://www.fantasygrounds.com/calendar/?id=373 Be glad to have you join us.

I am using 3.5e rules using Fantasy Grounds II tabletop to play with. I have DM'ed for several years back in the 80's. I am new to this this talbetop software though. I am converting all of my own campaigns to newer D&D rules systems. Looking for players that love to role play and not just bash heads although there will be plenty of opportunity for that.

You can find an Introduction and background to my world of Prahh at httP://www.skycastleproductions.com

Hope to see you in the game.
