Hi there. I just discovered your program on my boyfriends computer and have been fiddling around with it for the last few days. I am a roleplayer, but I roleplay in Dragonrealms, a high fantasy MUD. I am also a writer, and I think Fantasy Grounds would make an excellent writing tool for organizing a story down to the last detail.

It is just missing two key things that I can tell: being able to copy and paste from fantasy grounds into a word document and a spelling and grammer checker.

Personally, I could see myself typeing up everything in Fantasy grounds and then copying and pasting the story parts into word for the final draft if those two options were available.

While I am at it, is there a way to personalize the personalities sheet? I would like to have three tabs, One for what the character looks like, one for what their personality is, and one for their inventory. Maybe one for general notes too.

I may think of some other things to add to this later.
Thanks for reading!

Well... I don't think it'd be so hard to fix.

Okay, being an amateur writer I found this idea to be pretty dang good. So... I started working on an extension for it.

As it is you could open up the story entries in the xml files with notepad+ (https://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm) or just notepad and copy and paste them where you want.

Personally if I'm doing work that is self created for an FG game, I do the work in Word so I can spell check it and then paste it into FG.

I'm sure Obe will come up with some cunning, devilish solution though ;)

Well... I fixed the NPC part at the least.
The easiest way to have the finalized chunk of text though is to use Joshua's log-stripper. It will clean out everything that shouldn't be there and you can open the resulting file in internet explorer and copy-paste it from there.

But cut and paste works! Just highlight the text in editing mode and press ctrl+c.
Also there are too many formating errors in FG. Links are constantly directing to the wrong pictures/notes, no matter how often I correct them and sometimes you can't delete formatting anymore when it's on the bottoom or top of the page (like links and chat-texts)

I have tried ywriter...and I despise it, just my point of view :).

On the other hand, I love fantasy grounds. I am going to check out the new extension.

As for copying and pasting, for some reason, I can't with ctrl + c and ctrl + v. Of course, my computer really doesn't like me at the moment because of all my digital art programs mugging up the system.

Anywho, thanks for the replies and information :D.

In the application Data folder (Found under the Start-menu item for Fantasy Grounds most easily) you create a folder called extension then put the file into that.

It'll modify the standard NPC entries into a 3 page summary with looks, personality and inventory as cut and pasteable text.
