Hello! First time posting, so forgive me if what I am asking has already been covered.

I have made it a habit of collecting my D&D sources in both hardback and pdf, for ease of use with and without my computer. I just recently purchased this fine Fantasy Grounds program, and I am wondering if there is a way to transfer the information from my pdf's into the game so that I can have a large in game library of all my material. I know a lot of people will scream copyright. My only defense is that I actually own the material I am looking to pull over.

Just looking if anyone has any advice on this or maybe has already written some of the D&D books as modules to add to the Fantasy Grounds library. Thanks in advance!

If you have version 3.5, there is the complete SRD available through this web site. As for converting a PDF to a library module, I'm afraid there is no automatic facility to do this. I don't think you will find anyone that will give you their materials they have typed in themselves either. Creating library modules is currently a pain in the rear. I've been tempted to write a program to handle it, but haven't done so.

I have the 3.5 rules in the program, and I am probably going to be downloading the full srd when I get around to it.

As for the pdf to library conversion, that's disheartening to hear that news. Is there currently anything documented on how exactly to move pdfs or other source material over to a library module, so that I might try doing it on my own then?

If you're using 4E materials, I've written a series of programs that convert them to FGII module format. They can be found in the 4E development group over on fouruglymonsters.com

Also, you should get the d20_jpg ruleset for version 3.5. It has great, very useful expansions. You can get it at the Four Ugly Monsters website.

Thank you for that. I will look into getting that.

Now for the original intent, is there a documented process for transferring rulebooks to library modules?

There may well be something in

https://www.fantasygrounds.com/library/

I think this thread covered a similar thing

https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6967

It shouldn't be that much of a hassle if you are willing to copy and paste a whole lot of text into the correct format.

And again, incase you missed it, if you are converting 4e stuff, Tenian has created some parsers to more or less automate the process. See his post above.

Sorry, I meant to reply to that. I don't play 4th edition. I play only 3.5. I have too much money invested in it to change. But thanks for the replies.
