I hate to sound shrill on this, but this problem is making it so I can't use this software at all, and I'm finding it quite frustrating.

As of today, I am using the latest version of FGII. (25Nov08) When I try to start a new campaign, the window that pops up is not full size, and it doesn't give me access to the buttons that I believe are there which allow me to create my own campaign.

I can't find any way to resize the window, and playing with my resolution doesn't help. Can anyone please help me figure out how to fix this?

I'm using Windows Vista.

What DPI and resolution are you runing at?

If the DPI is non-standard it can result in this problem.

My resolution is 1280x800, and I'm something of a cabbage head I guess, but I don't know how to check my DPI.

Wow. That is screwy. Try swapping your resolution to something else then, like 1440x900. If Oberoten is right, then it may work. I use 1440x900 and have never seen that problem.

I'm just on my laptop, so 1280x800 is as high as it can go.

Can you try 1024x768? I use this resolution and it works fine for me.

Just tried it. Same problem, but at a lower resolution ;)

Are you using onboard graphics?

Tbh I'd send that screenie along with your DXDIAG to [email protected]

Well, I sent it to support, and now I'm waiting with bated breath.

How long does it usually take them to get back on these things?

Also: Is there some other way to start new campaign files? I want to use a custom ruleset I downloaded from another forum to start a campaign, and if I can just rip open an existing campaign file and make the changes there, that would have me set. For now.

Anyone know how I could do this?

Make a copy of your Dinor campaign.

open Campaign.XML in that folder.

<root>
<setting name="" />
<ruleset name="d20" />
</root>

Exchange the d20 with ruleset name of your choosing.

Optionally you may want to erase everything in db.xml

with just :

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?>
<root version="2.3" release="13">

</root>

Just to make sure you don't get any compitability problems.

That appears to have worked perfectly.

Thank you very much! At long last, my DMing fury shall be released upon the virtual world!
