Hi,
Fantasy Grounds 2 used to work until yesterday after I installed Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and updated to Fantasy Grounds 2.3.3. Of course, I cannot tell for sure, which is the reason but I didn't change anything else in my soft-/hardware configuration.

The problem is, when I open a character sheet, Fantasy Grounds crashes with blue screen. It arises in host and in client mode. Editing and opening other elements like story snippets or NPC sheets works fine. Could this be a ruleset problem? I will now try to restore Windows to a point before SP1.

I took this shot with my camera:

After restarting, I get an error report by Windows Vista:

I would try reinstalling your video driver first. You got a stop error which is often, but not always, a bad driver. Given you just did the service pack, I would suspect a driver problem first. It really could be any driver though, but the worst drivers off of MS Update are the video ones. They are often serveral versions behind before they can be MS certified.

I updated the graphics driver with Windows Update, which didn't resolve the problem. Then I solved the problem by downloading the latest driver directly from the Nvidia website. This solved my issue. Apparently, Windows Update didn't really give me the latest driver. Thanks Griogre, for your help.

However, some graphic glitches that I experience since updating to FG 2.3.3 still remain.

Sorry I wasn't clear on the Video driver. You should always use the latest from nVidia or ATI (AMD) not the one off of MS update - the MS update one is *not* usually the latest. I would also suggest you always use the nVidia or ATI drivers not the ones that came with the card which are sometimes 3rd party ones.

On the glitches I would suggest you also re-install DirectX. That *is* one you want to get the latest from Microsoft. Just make sure you get the latest one for the Operating System on your computer.

It sounds like to me you inadvertently "rolled back" your video driver which may have screwed up parts of DirectX which is why I suggest a re-install of DirectX.
